I need Grace, and thank you for your sermon today. I totally realize I have been leading my life the wrong way! Giving my life to Jesus! I will turn my life around and ask for his grace and not the way that I was taught how to talk to Jesus. Your sermon was powerful to me. I know this sermon was for me!

Regardless of whether a person is Christian or not, anxiety is experienced at a human level. Those who are in the spiritual authority should not spiritually bypass this by saying, "you don't have enough faith", "pray more" or "pastors should not experience this". This is not a spiritual thing. As human beings, we all have feelings that we need to express in a healthy way. We need practical coping skills to help us calm down such as breathing, mindfulness (for Christians this could be reading the Word, worship and/or prayer), exercise, journaling etc. We are composed of spirit, soul and body. The soul refers to the emotional aspect that may need healing. Having the right perspective (thinking) can also help with the emotions as the way a person thinks has an effect on what a person feels. Thus, when we are reminded by His Word "not to be anxious about anything, but in everything give thanks", it helps us look at the positive things in life instead of the negative. Gratefulness is looking at the positive despite being in a situation we don't like. It helps us feel better. Thus, as we read more of the Word (and apply it in our lives), it can change the way we think. If people get a broken bone (fracture), they would go to the E.R. to get seen by a doctor. When a person has a "broken" heart, that person needs to talk to someone to help him process his/her emotions to help him/her out. That can be a trusted and safe friend, spouse, a therapist or anyone in your circle who knows how to listen, empathize, validate and guide (to give you tips as to what to do or advice if needed). Unfortunately, this is what I see lacking in some of the Christian churches today. Sometimes, people just want to vent and others to listen and not advise. Praying that Christians would learn to be compassionate and kind instead of being judgmental toward others as we reflect God's love in this dark world. Afterall, God is love and we need to reflect that to others. Remember, we may be the only Bible others see❤.
